Embarrassing Stories
We asked eight first years:
Tell us your most embarrassing story.
After much deliberation, and coaxing, we came up with these answers:
“In public school I went to take off my snow pants and my pants came off too.”
--Howie Allen
“When I was in Guyana for missions, I was on a team of five people. One time the girl that was closest to my age-24-asked me if I could see through her dress to know whether or not it was suitable to wear. It caught me off guard and I didn’t really want to look, so I just said no. Later a local had told her that he could see through and it was awkward.”
--Tim Chester
“I was at the dinner table and I laughed so hard that I peed my pants. When I got up to take a shower, there was a puddle on the chair.”
--Stephanie Vincent
“I lost pool to Amanda Gray six games in a row.”
--Kyle Ireton
“I was at the theatre picking up tickets for a bunch of friends. When I was leaving, I went to push the door open but it turned out to be just a big pane of glass - not a door - and I walked right into it.”
--Daniel Sage
“My friends and I were going swimming and it was a race to get into the water first. I started tearing off my clothes, and I was in such a hurry I took off my bathing suit too. I ran into the cottage and stayed there the rest of the night.”
--Jolene Voskamp
“I was at Starstock and my friends were running ahead of me when we were leaving. They tore down a fence and I was the last to go through, but my shirt got caught and I got yanked back into the fence.”
--Mike Sanders
“I peed a friend’s bed in my sleep. I was 17.”
--Laurie Winfield
